If you have not already, make sure to place your order soon.ROSE CARE FOR WINTER:Winter is a time of renewal in our rose garden. We renew established roses through pruning and spraying, and plant the new additions. This opportunity gives us a fresh and exciting start for the coming spring.PRUNING ROSESPruning roses has the benefit of controlling the size and neatness of the bush while maximising flower production for the following season. It is also a great time to clean off aging or damaged wood and encourage new growth. This process is best done mid winter or early spring – in colder climates wait for the worst frosts to pass so as to avoid damage to new shoots. Pruning is easy, however information is generally provided in an over complicated manner which can seem daunting to new rose gardeners. Click below to view our pruning information and guide. PLANTING BARE ROOTED ROSESDO NOT let the roots dry out at any stage throughout the planting process. Upon arrival of your new roses, unpack them immediately and soak them in a plain bucket of water for a least 24 hours - leave them until you are ready to plant (do not soak them longer then 5 days). If your roses arrive well in advance of your planting requirements, they should be 'heeled in'. Please view our planting guide for more information. ROSE CARE FOR NEWLY PLANTED ROSESWATER IS THE KEY TO LIFE! One of the most common reasons that bare root roses do not shoot is due the roots drying out. Make sure that throughout the planting process and for the first year after planting, your roses are receiving sufficient water - that is 10 to 20 litres twice a week for each plant. TRANSPLANTING ESTABLISHED ROSESFrom
time to time we wish to move an already settled rose plant. It could be
that it is in the wrong spot, you are moving house or want to pot it up
to give to a friend. This can be easily done for young plants. NEW BOOKS!!!We have four new beautiful and informative books in store now.
