James Galway™
David Austin
(Auscrystal) James Galway™ is a refined and reliable climbing rose that quickly develops into an impressive vertical feature. With its vigorous, upright growth habit, it is ideal for training up a 3 m wall, obelisk or pillar, adding height, elegance and soft colour to the garden.
The medium-sized blooms are a delicate light pink, deeper medium pink at the centre and gently fading towards the outer petals. Each flower is filled with neatly arranged petals that form a graceful, slightly domed shape. Blooming repeatedly throughout the season, the flowers are complemented by a light to medium Old Rose fragrance that lends classic appeal.
A strong and versatile performer, James Galway™ tolerates some shade, though best results are achieved with around six hours of sun. As it matures, it provides excellent coverage, reaching an eventual height of approximately 3.75–4.25 m.
